The Mountain

From the camping you can easily spend the morning on the beach or by the pool, later if it gets too hot you can choose to drive up into the mountains were you will find pine forests, where it will be quite a few degrees cooler, massive granite boulders, ravines, waterfalls with rock pools to swim in, mountain villages where you can stop for a drink or dine on Corsican specialties while you enjoy the panoramic views.
For those who are keen on walking hiking / mountain biking there are many well marked walks / trails.
From the camping the mountains can be reached in 30min (not the peaks).

L'Ospedale Half an hour  from the camping.

Small hamlet at 800m, located 19km from the camping, owing its name to the presence there of a hospital in Roman times. Beautiful pine forest, many hiking trails, (from one hour to a whole day). Piscia di gallo waterfall is highly recommended. There is also an artificial lake made by damming the river Osu. Equally stunning are the views over the gulf and even to Sardinia on a clear day.

Bavella

The jagged peaks of Bavella can be seen from the camping. About 25km from I'Ospedale the Bavella needles is another spot not to be missed. Best discovered by hiking, a very popular spot for alpinists.

The most scenic route back to Porto-Vecchio is the road down the mountain from Bavella to Solenzara although its not for the faint-hearted as the way down is twisting and narrow (you can return via l'Ospedale if you would rather stay on the better roads) but you will miss stopping for a swim in the various rock-pools in the river Solenzara, there are also many cannoning spots.

From the camping the circular route of :- Camping - l'Ospedale - Zonza - Bavella - Solenzara - camping can be done in half a day.
